Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou believes defender Djed Spence new contract is the right thing to do given his prowess in the Premier League and he doesn’t care what the former boss thinks.

Spence has just signed a new contract until June 2028, even though before that, he seemed to have no future because he was sent on loan to Genoa, Leeds and Rennes, all of whom had comments like the player was stuck in a pose.
However, Ange made the English player focus on his performance before his cool hairstyle, and he eventually signed his future to the ‘Spurs’.
“Most players take their own future into their own hands, I think sometimes they forget that,” he said at his pre-West Ham press conference.
“If they do well, do everything right, they have a future.”
